Guy Strazz – guitarist & composer

Guy Strazz is an acknowledged Australian master jazz guitarist and awarded composer whose work navigates modern jazz and experimental jazz influenced by Afro-Brazilian styles and Indian classical music. His performances as featured artist include: Jazz Yatra, Jakarta Jazz, Perth and Adelaide Arts Festivals, Clusone Jazz Festival (Italy), Japan World Expo, the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne and Wangaratta Jazz festivals and the Adelaide International Guitar Festival.

He has worked with luminaries such as Matt McMahon, Sandy Evans and Dale Barlow. Indian musicians Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, and Pt. Ashok Roy, guitarists Martin Taylor, Slava Grigoryan and Mike Stern. Guy  is a recipient of several awards, including a Jazz APRA, two APRA Nominations and the prestigious Australia Arts Council Music Fellowship.

He has performed at major festivals and venues around the world and has released 10 albums as a leader featuring his compositions (Universal Music Publishing). He is currently performing with his Eastern Blues Quartet, Anna Salleh, and Dorian Mode/Toby Hall Hammond Organ Trio. He holds a Masters and PhD in music.
