Guy Strazz – guitarist & composer

Guy Strazz is an acknowledged master jazz guitarist, and awarded composer. His work navigates modern jazz and World jazz influenced by Afro-Brazilian music and Indian classical music. He has appeared as featured artist at Jazz Yatra (Mumbai), Jakarta Jazz, Perth and Adelaide Arts Festivals, Clusone Jazz Festival (Italy), Japan World Expo, the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne and Wangaratta Jazz festivals and the Adelaide International Guitar Festival.

He has worked with luminaries such as Matt McMahon, Sandy Evans and Dale Barlow. Indian musicians Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, and Pt. Ashok Roy, guitarists Martin Taylor, Slava Grigoryan and Mike Stern. Guy  is a recipient of several awards, including a Jazz APRA, two APRA Nominations, an Australian Independent Recording Jazz Nomination (AIR 2008), an Indie Acoustic Project nomination Best Global Beat Asia (USA 2006), and the prestigious Australia Council for the Arts Music Fellowship.

He has released 10 albums as a leader featuring his compositions (Universal Music Publishing). He is currently performing with Anna Salleh, and Guy Strazz Quartet. He holds a Masters and a PhD in music.
